New Pretty Good MahJongg v2.7 for Windows with over 400 Games

Pretty Good MahJongg, our companion game to Pretty Good Solitaire, has updated to version 2.70 (for Windows). This version adds 10 new tile matching layouts to bring the total to 355. It also contains 55 solitaire games with MahJongg tiles, for a total of over 400 games. 

This is an update to the Windows version, the Mac version will be updating soon also.

This is a free update for all registered users of Pretty Good MahJongg - just download the trial version and use your registration code to make it the full version (it will find your code automatically if you have the full version installed already).

Pretty Good MahJongg is solitaire with MahJongg tiles instead of playing cards. It features the classic MahJongg tile matching solitaire game, where tiles are removed in pairs, and original MahJongg solitaire games such as MahJongg Spider, MahJongg Klondike, and MahJongg FreeCell.

New Pretty Good Solitaire for Windows v19.2 with 1015 Games

A new version of Pretty Good Solitaire for Windows is now available!

Here is what is new:

-- updated Daily Quests - small changes to the Klondike and FreeCell Daily Quests. Daily Quests are new challenges every day. Just click on the
"Play a Quest" button on the main screen.

-- 5 new games - the new games are:

- Midnight Sun - a Klondike type variation of Willow and Fascination. Midnight Sun will appear in the Klondike Daily Quest on occasion.

- Devil's Yukon - a combination of Diavolo and Double Yukon.

- Janet's Bisley - an easy variation of Bisley..

- Doubtful Pairs - a more difficult version of Patient Pairs, but not as difficult as Frustrating Pairs.

- Agnes Two - a two deck version of Agnes Bernauer (and similar to Agnes Three).

New Pretty Good Solitaire Mac Edition v3.50 with 750 Games

A new version of Pretty Good Solitaire Mac Edition is now available.

The trial version can be downloaded from http://www.goodsol.com/mac .

If you have purchased, the full version can be downloaded from the link in your receipt email, or by going to the Internet menu in the game, select "Download Latest Version".

Version 3.50 contains 30 new games and many bug fixes and improvements for Mojave and Catalina.

The new games are Alloway Kirk, Balcony, Calculation FreeCell, Calculation Klondike, Coyote, Cromwell, Double Australian, Double Gold Rush, Five Pirates, Four by Ten, Frustrating Pairs, Interchange Puzzle, Klondike Puzzle, Leprechaun, Lucky Fan, Neptune, Prime Minister, Robespierre, Royal Noir, Saxony, Seven and Ten, Spike, Ten by One, Thatcher, Three Pirates, Triple Harp, Triple Triangle, Triton, Turnover the Rainbow, and Willow.

I recommend that all users of the Mac game update to this latest version. Older versions will be harder to install and run in the future macOS Catalina because of new security requirements, and this version 3.50 is fully ready for these requirements for Catalina. This version is also 64 bit (versions have been 64 bit for some years, but users of versions 1 and 2 will need to update for Catalina).

Users who purchased from the Mac App Store can update their versions using the App Store.

New Pretty Good Solitaire v19.0 for Windows with 1010 Games and Daily Quests

A new version of Pretty Good Solitaire for Windows is now available!

Version 19.0 can be downloaded from https://www.goodsol.com/download.html.

This is a big new version.  It adds 9 new games, bringing the total to 1010 Games.  You can see the new games in the New Games group.

But the big new thing is Daily Quests.  Quests have been in Pretty Good Solitaire a long time - they were added in 2001 in what was called the "Quest Edition".  While Quests have had their fans, they never really became popular.  I suspect that was because they were just too long.

In the new version 19, Quests have been redesigned to be played on a daily basis, like the Daily Challenges you see in some solitaire apps.  Every day, you get different game numbers to play, but they are always the same games as everyone else gets that day.

There are 5 different Quests you can play each day.  They are the Klondike Quest, FreeCell Quest, Spider Quest, Pyramid Quest, and Yukon Quest.  Each game contains the game that gives it its name, plus some other games.  The Quests are 3 to 5 rounds and are played for points.  You get bonus points for winning games, but even if you don't win, the object is to get as many points as possible.  You can submit your scores to the high scores list.

Each day brings a new challenge!  Not every game will be winnable, but most are (the FreeCell and Spider games are pretty much always winnable).

I hope you like the new Quests.  I expect to be making them better in new versions.  Tell me what you like or don't like about the Quests.  Are they too hard or too easy?

A new version of Pretty Good Solitaire for Windows is now available!

Here is what is new:

-- Version 18.1 contains one new game, bringing the total number of games to 1001. The new game is Park and Ride, a variation of Free Parking - these are Gaps/Montana type games.

-- The Tropical Card Set, previously a separate download, is now included in the regular game download.

-- Various small bug fixes, help file typo fixes, and improvements.
