Goodsol Newsletter #381 Lady Palk Solitaire
In this newsletter the featured game is an old Forty Thieves type game. It's very cold here at Goodsol headquarters, it's definitely solitaire season!
You can create you own games by clicking on the Wizard button on the main screen of Pretty Good Solitaire - you can create games of standard types such as Klondike types, Spider types, Forty Thieves types and more. I'm working on new games for the next version - submit the rules you chose for a game and maybe it could be included. Just create a game, go into the game, click on the Rules button and tell me all the properties listed there. Some popular games, like Vinyard or Fred's Spider came from users who created them using the Wizard.

Featured Game - Lady Palk
Lady Palk is a two deck Forty Thieves type game that is similar to Diplomat.
There are eight foundation piles that are built up in suit from Ace to King as usual. The game is won when all of the cards are moved here.
There are eight tableau piles that are built down regardless of suit. Groups of cards in sequence down regardless of suit can be moved as a unit. Spaces are filled by Kings or any legal group of cards headed by a King. At the start of the game four cards are dealt face up to each pile. This is basically Forty Thieves with just eight piles instead of ten.
The remainder of the deck forms a stock, which is turned over one card at a time to a waste pile by clicking. There are no redeals.
Lady Palk is one of the 1040 games in Pretty Good Solitaire (for Windows), one of the 750 games in Pretty Good Solitaire Mac Edition and Pretty Good Solitaire for iPad, and one of the 720 games in Pretty Good Solitaire Mini for iPhone.
