Featured Game - Thieves of Egypt
Thieves of Egypt is a popular two deck original game that I invented for Pretty Good Solitaire. It is a variation of Forty Thieves.
There are eight foundation piles which are to be built up in suit from Aces to Kings. The game is won when all of the cards are moved to the foundations.
There are ten tableau piles. At the start of the game, one card is dealt to the first pile, three to the 2nd, five to the 3rd, seven to the 4th, ninth to the 5th, ten to the 6th, eight to the 7th, sixth to the 8th, four to the 9th, and two to the 10th. All cards are face up. The remaining cards form a stock in the top left.
In the tableau, building is down by alternate color. Groups of cards in sequence down by alternate color may be moved as a unit. Spaces may only be filled by Kings.
Clicking on the stock turns over one card at a time to the waste pile. The top card of the waste pile is available for play on the foundations or tableau. There is one redeal.
Thieves of Egypt can be won most of the time, and average players win about 75% of the time.
Thieves of Egypt is one of the 1040 games in Pretty Good Solitaire (for Windows), one of the 750 games in Pretty Good Solitaire Mac Edition, one of the 700 games in Pretty Good Solitaire for iPad, and one of the 720 games in Pretty Good Solitaire Mini for iPhone.
