Goodsol Newsletter #368 Patience's Royal Solitaire
In this newsletter I feature our iPad games because Apple has just released iOS 14. The featured game this time is Patience's Royal, one of the new games in Pretty Good Solitaire. It is a variation of Patience's Reward. With fears of coronavirus back on people's minds, remember to keep calm and play solitaire.

Featured Game - Patience's Royal
Patience's Royal is a new game in version 20.0 of Pretty Good Solitaire for Windows. It is a more difficult version of Patience's Reward, an old original game that dates back to early versions of Pretty Good Solitaire.
Patience's Royal is a two deck game. There are eight foundation piles, which are built up in suit from Ace to King in the usual way. The game is won when all of the cards are moved here.
There are 13 tableau piles. These piles are built down in suit. Groups of cards if they are in sequence down in suit can be moved as a unit. Spaces may be filled only by Kings or a group of cards headed by a King. At the start of the game 4 cards are dealt face up to each pile.
There is a stock pile face down in the top left. Clicking on the stock deals one card to each tableau pile. There are no redeals.
Currently players are winning Patience's Royal nearly 20% of the time, but better scores should be possible.
