Featured Game - Calico Bandits of Cairo
Calico Bandits of Cairo is a new game in version 20.0 of Pretty Good Solitaire for Windows. In this video I explain how to play Calico Bandits of Cairo: How to Play Calico Bandits of Cairo.
Calico Bandits of Cairo is a four deck version of the two deck game King of Egypt, which is itself a variation of the popular game Thieves of Egypt.
The game has eight foundation piles. These piles are built up in suit from Ace to King, wrapping to Ace and then to King again, until each pile contains 26 cards. Only two piles for each suit allowed. The game is won when all the cards are moved here.
There are 13 tableau piles. These piles are built down by alternate color, wrapping from Ace to King if necessary. Groups of cards if they are in sequence down by alternate color can be moved as a unit. Spaces may be filled only by Kings. At the start of the game one card is dealt to the first pile, three to the 2nd, five to the 3rd, seven to the 4th, nine to the 5th, eleven to the 6th, 13 to the 7th, twelve to the 8th, ten to the 9th, eight to the 10th, six to the 11th, four to the 12th, and two to the 13th.
Finally, There is a stock pile face down in the top left. Clicking on the stock deals one card at a time to a waste pile. The top card of the waste pile is available for play on the foundations or tableau. There is one redeal.
Calico Bandits of Cairo can be won most times, but there are a lot of cards and it may take awhile. To learn the strategy, play the related games Thieves of Egypt and especially King of Egypt first.
