Scary stuff. One wonders if this is just a preview of what will happen to *us* in the future given the import of so many foods into the USA. Maybe I should get started on my backyard garden...

Yes, this is really scary. Apparently, our processed food is sourced similarly to pet foods, so contamination at a single plant could have as wide an impact on humans.

Our cats were not directly affected by this, but it was only due to a bit of good luck. (We had one can of a recalled brand, but a "safe" flavor, that had an average UPC of the bad products.)
