We are opening a new line of business here at Goodsol.
Awhile ago, Anne took up a new hobby - making beaded necklaces. She has gotten quite good at it and decided to turn it into a business. Her new website is now up:
For an introduction, see Greetings.
Right away, you'll probably notice that the site is set up as a blog. This seemed the easiest way to create the site - no need to make a site design and create pages for each necklace, TypePad does it all. It's easy to update and change too. Currently we are using PayPal as a payment processor. We'll be setting up to sell on eBay in the near future.
While this may not be of interest to many of the male readers of this blog, note that jewelry can make a nice gift!
We are just getting going right now so in some ways we are still sort of in "beta" status. But we are ready to take orders and ship.
Very nice. And, ingenious!
Have you and your wife checked out Edgeio (edgeio.com)? I'm thinking about giving it a try in the near future.

Nice, I've seen many other women starting this kind of online business :)

My only suggestion is that you look into hiring a professional photographer with experience taking pictures of jewelry.
Most of your pics on the page are quite passable, but a few are out of focus and some are just not composed to look as good as they could.
If I lived in the area I'd offer to do it just for the experience. You could probably find enthusiastic amateur photographers like me if you looked around your local area. But if you really want it done right, it's hard to beat a seasoned professional.
