Hugh Macleod has a nice post on gapingvoid: Journeyman vs. Master.
A Journeyman gets paid while he works. A Master gets paid while he sleeps.
So do you get paid while you sleep? One of the great things about a shareware business is that you get paid while you sleep. Orders come in whether you are working or not. You aren't paid by the number of hours you work, there are no billable hours.
Since I'm in Asia and two thirds of my customers are in North America, the hours I'm asleep are my most lucrative ones.
